Gel Infusion Full Foam Mattress

This is the full foam hug with the heat taken out. A 2 inch layer of cooling gel foam is bonded on top of a 2 inch layer of memory foam, all sitting on a 6 inch high-density foam foundation, no springs anywhere. The memory foam cradles into your shape and the gel layer above it draws heat away, which tackles the one complaint memory foam sleepers know well: sleeping warm. Gel foam was developed for exactly this job.

The feel is dense, still and settled, with none of the bounce of a sprung mattress. The foam spreads your weight across the whole surface instead of concentrating it on your hips and shoulders, easing pressure on your joints, and because foam absorbs movement rather than transmitting it, motion transfer is heavily minimised. Not zero, but a restless partner barely registers. Suits side, back and front sleepers.

The cover is a soft knitted fabric with a full zip, and the zip design does more than you would expect. Because the cover is not stitched tight at the borders, the foam is free to compress and respond without being constrained, which makes the mattress feel softer and absorbs even more movement before it reaches your partner. The cover also unzips fully for removal and washing, so you can keep the sleep surface genuinely fresh for years, something almost no traditional mattress offers.

The foam is CertiPUR certified, meeting strict standards for health, safety and environmental friendliness, with hypoallergenic fillings and materials throughout, fully conforming to British fire safety regulations.

This is a medium mattress, around 5 to 6 out of 10. Bear in mind firmness feels a little different depending on your weight and build. Approx 10 inches deep.

One thing worth knowing about foam mattresses: the base changes the feel. On a slatted base the mattress can flex slightly between the slats, so it generally feels a touch softer than on a flat divan top. This mattress works on our gas lift frame beds and ottoman divans, but avoid pairing it with a side lift ottoman: foam mattresses are lighter than sprung ones, and this one may not be heavy enough to hold a side lift lid fully closed.
