The Deep Orthopaedic pairs a pocket sprung core with a 50mm layer of high-density orthopaedic reflex foam on each side. Orthopaedic here means supportive fillings, dense reflex foam that holds your body in a level, well-supported position rather than letting it dip, it does contour to your body shape and you feel the springs shaping to your body.
The pocket springs move independently, so support follows your body whatever position you sleep in, side, back or front, and a partner's movement is minimised as stays on their side of the bed.
The mattress is dual sided with the same fillings on both faces, so turn and rotate it regularly and the wear spreads evenly for a much longer lifespan. Both surfaces use a soft knitted quilted fabric that regulates temperature through the night, and the 3D mesh borders wick moisture away to keep heat and bacteria from building up in the sides.
This is a medium firm mattress, and you sleep on it rather than in it. Bear in mind firmness feels a little different depending on your weight and build. Not sure which firmness suits you?
